Here I Go Again '87 music video anlysis

‘Here I Go Again ‘87’ is the British hard rock/heavy metal bands’ most famous video and has become one of the most recognizable and iconic music videos in rock history. The video won an MTV award in 1988

The first few seconds of the video shows the band standing and with dark lighting and three spot lights on the singer David Coverdale, drummer and guitarist.

In-between the shots of the band, Coverdale sings the opening lines of the song. The camera is directed at him to show his face while singing so the viewer can get a look at him and see his facial expressions which, here, are quite serious and emotional.

As soon as the song climaxes from the intro, the stage is suddenly lit up and the band move in time to the now upbeat music and there are several different shots of the band and Coverdale driving in his Jaguar (Very typical for a rock star) with American actress and girlfriend Tawny Kitaen. 

There are several different camera shots and angles in the video, one of them being a close up when the guitarist does a solo and a high - angle shot of Tawny Kitaen famously prancing around David Coverdale’s car.
